She was in a good mood that day...Jacynth and Elliot They are super cute right?? hahah... anywayz... it was a busy busy Hari Raya weekend for us... starting from Fri, we had DFD (designed for Discipleship) in church and there after the usual supper over at 85..

Then came Saturday..where we had DFD Clinic with the adults, to understand how this can be conducted.. thereafter, Leongie and me headed over to his poly friend's place for their poly gathering... afterwhich we headed home..and set up our cable Tv...though we didnt have any add on channels..(only have the 3 basic groups).. we actually watched TV-channel surfing (cos it was the trial period and we had all the channels) till 2ish am before we went to bed...

Evil Black box... make us stay up late, steal our time away from doing more meaningful thing..

So then it was Sunday... where we were in church and got to take those wonderful nice shots with the kiddos...and then it was birthday party after birthday parties...it was Cheryl Lim's birthday too.. so blessed Birthday to ALL September 20th and 21st Babies...

G-ladies and Me

GELLers at YingHuan's bday And then Leongie and me went home to slack..before some of the youths came over to our new place.. and together we headed over to Gab's place for his birthday party!!
So well.. me being the usual sabo queen... decided to dunk Gab into the pool..got the boys to help..even Leongie was ready to head into the pool together with Gab...but well a turn of events and it was I who ended up in the pool with Gab... BEST!! Why is it always me?? lala.. guess every one had fun....

And then today...I thank God it was a public Holiday...though didnt get to rest etc. and spent the whole day in church for Gelebration's rehearsal...but it was Good..serving God is way better then serving Man...(work is worship- that is something I am still grasping and trying to apply that).. For now.. i thank God for the break from work....

So after rehearsals..we had worship team meet up and dinner sponsored by Pastor Joel and family over at Sakura at Tampines... so yupz..

Kinda sums up my busy, packed, eating and eating hari raya weekend....

Leongie's on course today.. so gave me time to meet with peeps whom I haven met in a long while given that we've been sooo busy with all the funiture shopping lately... So arranged to meet the trio (little Monster-ah ryl, Papa bear and Vinvin) for dinner this evening...

My little monster couldnt make it last min and so it was just Papa bear and Vin.. seems like it was back to those days not very long ago..*ahem in actual fact-bout 5yrs now* where 3 of us would hang out till late....

Had dinner over at Bishan out usual meet up place these days.. and then it was chilling out time after walking around...no place at coffee bean, didnt wanna have ice-cream Again...so I kinda Conned them to having:

Its kinda like my latest addiction.. I've been having Yami Yogurt like at least once a week...and i super Lurve it!!! so yupz.. we bought the largest cup..and headed to the open air area of J8 and sat there at the playground. together with the many groups of JC kids there... reminiscing old days....like JC kiddos....

The boys humored me, and kindly went up the slide for me to take a pic just cos i said they will look cute on it as oversized kiddos... hahaha... I enjoyed the night out...with the Boys...Monster we missed u tooo..would be great if u were there too... enjoyed the Yami Yogurt tooo...well we called it a night at 10ish..and I went over to Jalan Kayu side to meet my other friend whom I haven met for a long while....
Addie was supposed to come too...but she was sick...so yupz... met Zi only...she just started work and was sharing with me all her interesting stories...and her working hours is making me envious!!! She works from 12.30pm to 6.30pm, no need to work during school holidays, and teaching a class of only 4!! How cool is that?? hahaha..


Anywayz.. hope to meet Addie up soon... I sent Zi home and then as I was making my way home i got a call from Leongie....(more on that in the next post....)

FOP2009

Festival Of Praise 2009Just back from FOP and supper with the Gellies who were there... FOP which stands for Festival Of Praise is an annual event held around 1st weekend of August... and this year's invited worshipper was Bob Fitts...

Work ended late..and so took a cab to indoor stadium, costing me $12.80 WAH... but well was all worth it... cos I had a great time hearing God's word there.... Speaker was Mark Conner, the same speaker as last year..and I totally enjoyed his sharing...cos it was straight to the point and very impactful..

This evening, he spoke about WOrries.. where worrying is like a prison and it causes one to go into a downward spiral, cos it takes away our joy and it gets us to focus on ourselves and become self-centered..

Instead of worrying, we as God's children are to reach out to others and be a blessing to people so as to advance God's Kingdom..but worrying always hinders our growth.. thus we need to STOP worrying... and to STOP worrying... he shared:

S=Specify the worries (know what we are worrying about)

T=Take action on our worries (do something about it, instead of just thinking and dwell on it)

O=Offer up a prayer to God (recognise that we cant do everything ourselves)

P=Placing our trust in God (acknowledging God in our lives)

and it is a message relevant to everyone today...cos it is human's nature to always worry... whether its to worry about things we can control or things outta our control.. something that I really felt relevant to me..cos i sometimes worry too much.. Thus I will apply the STOP to myself..

Anywayz, the gellies that were there... we went to Geylang for dim sum..for dinner cum supper.. and i just came home... gonna head to bed soon..cos its F3 (Frisbee Fun with friends) later in the morning..

Was a good rest day today... went for church in the morning..and we had mission trip practise after service.... We are heading back to Cebu again this June.... YEAH!!! cant wait...

Anywayz..after church... Boy and me headed to the West...to have dinner together with my-in-laws *aka his family*...over at Zhilong's Work place "Pagi Sore".... some advert time for the restaurant he works in...

Nice food, nice ambience... reasonably priced...if u haven already know.. it serves Indonesian Cuisine..and the chendol done by Zhilong himself is YUMS....

well after dinner, Boy and myself was slacking around..waiting for Zhilong to be off duty so that we can head for kopi with the rest...so while waiting for Zhilong...Boy and me decided to play bowling.....

lalalala.... 5 words... I cant bowl for Nuts...i suck at it...the bowl was always heading to the long kang..But i must say.Boy is a natural pro... and i concluded that I seriously dun have much ball sense... since young..i've never really played any sort of ball games and i think i have some psycho motor problem... my limbs cant coordinate...

Since Bowling wasnt really our cup of tea... we headed to the arcade..to play time crisis..and the hand banging game..needless to say...i'm pretty bad at those 2 games too... but at least i did much better then while i was playing bowling...

ZL finally got off work and we headed over to Bukit Timah area..for kopi with Noel and Lihong.. there i realised i wasnt the most 'suan-able' person....cos at least i know how to play "black magic, what is the time now.. etc etc" hahaha back to childhood days we went....

Was a great day today and its Sunday night now... A long long week ahead again........

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

went for Night cycling on Friday night 7th Nov... well it was some filming thingy that a few of us the gellers went for... wanna know what? Stay tune.. i will let u peeps know when its screen on TV and then u guys can all go laugh at me.. lala

So yupz.. yesterday was Guides Pioneering with SJI Scouts.. (was supposed to be with Unicorn scouts since we are supposed to be like Family now.. but unreluctant people make us SAC guides decide to opt for alternatives) so yupz.. I was supposed to head down to SJI in the morning..but was just too shacked out from the overnight cycling (i only got home at 5ish am) that i concussed big big time.. *Sorry girls*

So yupz..woke up, head to work...and then went for GEL..before heading down to town again to meet my Crazy gang (Zi, Addie, G, Ching and Teresa) at Timbre.. the girls were all drinking madly *i choose to think so* especially Addie.. and i got myself an Ice Lemon Tea for the night... *pat on the back for choosing an alcoholo free life =)*

Vin, Bear and Monster came by too..they planned to meet me for late supper/kopi...and so i was running between 2 tables.. joining them and also the crazy gang..

So yup Timbre was great.. music was BLAST... Goodfellas were awesome... and when i hear song dedications/ requests for ladies for hens night..and birthday boys being sabo-ed... I feared for myself.. cos i SO know i will be sabo-ed big time by the girlies. Thank God i foresee that and told G( my most sane friend amongt the rest) that I am not OK to be on stage..cos i cant sing and i look crappy due to the lack of sleep the night before...G never fail me. =)

Thanks crazy gang for the ending up with just dedicating a song for the silly Sophia who will be celebrating her last birthday as a single... and for my Supper mates for the "Play a mambo song for the mambo queen" although no names mentioned...i kinda guess its You guys.... although i dun admit that i am a mambo queen.. hehe

Anyway.. I left at 12ish.. cos Ah mei was waiting at home for me..and well i was kinda too tired and zonked out too...so headed back home...

Night out with the Girlies and Teck

Night out with 2 girlies and 1 half girlie Was a night out with girlies and Teck (our jie mei haha) from work last night.. kinda sianz to stay on to finish work..and well since Teck needed to head down to Chinatown area for some work related matters.... we decided to head to Chinatown for dinner...

I kinda am confident or rather..am not too bad at parking already.. BUT i have yet to try parallel parking -other then parallel parking in the driving center with 4 poles... so yupz.. my parking skills were put to test last night...

there wasnt available slots and so..since we spotted a parallel parking slot...and well they were "encouraging" me to try parking it....and so... i went for it even though both the front and back lots were Lorry.. haha

Was a real tight one.. i would say..and scary too..stressful.. but well thank God the nice uncle from the lorry behind kinda stayed on just to help me get my car parked.. "turn..turn somemore...slowly... good"- his comments kinda comforted me more..hahaha Thanks Nice Uncle..

so ya.. my 1st parallel parking..so we went over to maxwell to eat...and walked thru a temple with many many lanterns... (and that's where i took the above pix... taken from my trusty W810i phone.. haha) and hmm kinda realised that the "Lantern Festival" -as i like to put it... went by without me really realizing it.. me never play lanterns this year..never eat my favourite champagne Truffle mooncakes tooo.. =( So i die die must eat Champagne truffles mooncake next year... hahaha

so yup...dinner was at maxwell.. and then i sent them home... I used to think that.. being a guy is quite cham.. cos got to be gentlement and send frens (girls or guys) home if u got car...and then..the Cham part is the making ur way home on your own...

Why cham (poor thing)?? cos.. Silly goose here.used to be fearful of being alone at night...scary ma..-of the unknown, of Chi-ko-peks (dirty old man) etc etc...so although i look independent to all and always go home late... I secretly Thank God for my frens who are sweet and nice to send me home...wake me up..(for the very reason that I am scared of things i cant see more then the things i can see)...

But well.. that fear kinda phased out in life since Uni days...when late nights out in school studying becomes the norm... so ya.. come what may.. i became the independent..nothing to be scared of Sophia...cos I know.. that no matter what... there's always someone around me...and that's my Heavenly Father... who sends his angels to protect me.. =)

So yupz.. after sending them home.. i made my way home.. singing praise songs and enjoying the 'being alone' moments, and the time i managed to talk to God and just allow him to talk to me... such ride home was great... and I am definitely looking forward to more of this in future.. =)3

Finally met up with Skee last night.. she's like super busy since she took on a "bigger hat" at work.. difficult to get her out for meal or kopi even... sooo long since we had our tian mi mi time together...

So yupz.. met up for dinner and stay out late, despite the fact that I got to wake up at 6plus am later for work camp... She came by Gh to pick me up and we headed over to Kovan Heartland mall to have dinner at HK cafe...stuffed ourselves crazy and then we decided to head to Icekimo-Rohting's sis' ice-cream shop...

Got Rohting to come meet us too..so while we were there.. think we were the nosiest bunch of customers around... but yupz..love the ice-cream at Ice-kimo truck loads... great yummilicious flavours...(nope..Rohting dun pay me to do this advertorial for her) but ya... its super good...and its reasonably priced too....

We stayed till rather late... cos Skee was sharing her 5cents worth of marketing ideas with Rohting..and we were all discussing all those marketing stuff indepthly... hmmm business women in the making....

and now..sigh..i got only 4 hours of sleep and i got to wake up, pack my bed and head to camp with a few of my kiddos... and haz-my partner in crime of course...

Had to be back at work yesterday morning..(Sianz to the max) cos of programme.. now i realised the value of 5day work week only...cos its really a big big chore to actually be back at work on a Saturday...and well that makes ur weekend only 1 day..(Sunday that is)

Anywayz... ended work, and my uncle was sending the Brats and aunty to churchie, and was going to bring them for lunch, so they came by GH to pick me up..and off we went to Tampines Sports Stadium for jap food luncheon...

Our first time there..but was a note too bad place... each plate of sushi cost only $0.99.. CHEAP... but of cos sushi cheap means other stuffs were ex... but well at least not too bad..reasonable, affordable and nice ambience and food was good too..
Thereafter, we went to churchie... for GEL.. i was super early..so i caught a nap before it was GEL time...

After GEL, boy and me went to Manjusri Sec for their school's guides and scouts campfire..Boy's scout group was there... so went by to visit and kaypoh.... and well the host were giving out sovenior items for the campfire by calling out school by school (that's usual)...and the surprising thing came when i heard them saying:

"St Anthony's Canossian Secondary School".....

*DOT*DOT*DOT... my school was here?? and i didnt know even la.. called Captain..and she didnt know they had gone for the campfire...went over to look for SAC guides..and found them..No teacher accompanying... lalala... they said the other teacher in charge of guides (other then capt) knew they were coming to campfire...

Gosh..how can she allow them to go campfire without any teachers and best..no consent forms even... lalala..

Anywayz... after the campfire.. went for supper over at Fong Seng together with Boy and gang... place changed abit..slightly more atas then before... food came much faster then before...and Price also increase quite a bit le...gosh..to think 5- 7 years ago..i used to hang out there pretty often... hahah I am growing OLD........ =(

How often can you get to starve urself with Sushi for SUPPER?? yes yes.. Supper..It was a boring Saturday today initially... not until I had SUSHI SUPPER with my monsters gang- Papa bear, VinVin and Little monster...

So Why was it a boring saturday today? Main reason being it was a working day for me... Argh.. total Sian-ness when you got to work on Saturday... (so now i totally understand those who works on sat) cos that means Your weekend is only on SUNDAY....

Secondly... well i used to sleep in on saturdays.. but now cos of Work.. i got to wake up much early then i can sleep til.. and that really suck big big time...

So yupz.. ended work, went to Youth, and after youth, arranged to meet up with my monsters gang for late dinner.. at "TPY"... well.. TPY to Haz and me means: Toa Payoh.. but to the Monsters.. they thought otherwise...

I reached tpy...and called Bear (cos half an hour earlier he said he left his house already and will call when he reach, and he Hasnt called me yet.. and its seldom that Bear will be late) and lala.. he was at Tampines....Immediately called vinVin... and bestest... he was also at Tampines... ARGHH... so sorry folks.. miscommunication this time..should have specify the exact location instead..

So Yupz.. they came to Tpy.. and we went to Sakae Sushi... had Sushi Supper Buffet.. and gosh we really ate super a lot.. and Bear actually ate 2nd round of dinner la... we ordered like nobody's business and ate like crazy..... but haha it was a great time gorging ourselves crazy...

Then it was a walk to Tpy Town park.. haha to digest our food before we head home.. but in the end it was off to Lor 5 hawker center for drinks and more crapping and catching up before we head home....
